Consultation has concluded

On 31 July 2023, Council resolved to exhibit a Planning Proposal to rezone certain lands following the completion of a review of zoning and planning controls along the Memorial Drive, Albion Park Rail Bypass and the Mount Kembla Rail line transport corridors.

The Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Land Use Zoning and Development Standard maps to be consistent with the adjoining land now the corridors are complete. Additionally, the Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Land Reservation Acquisition Mapping to remove mapped areas within the completed transport corridors. Suburbs involved are Bulli, Woonona, Russel Vale, Corrimal, Towradgi, Fairy Meadow, Mount Kembla and Yallah.

If adopted by Council, the Land Use Zones, Development Standards and Land Reservation Acquisition maps for affected lands will be revised through amendments being made to the Wollongong Local Environmental Plan 2009.

The Planning Proposal is on exhibition from Wednesday 31 January to Monday 4 March 2024 and can be viewed:
