Consultation has concluded
Wollongong City Council has engaged WSP Consultants to prepare a Community Needs Assessment for Planning Area 7.
Area 7 includes the suburbs of Cordeaux Heights, Farmborough Heights, Figtree, Kembla Grange*, Kembla Heights, Mount Kembla, and Unanderra (refer to the map below).
* Community needs/ social infrastructure gaps for Kembla Grange have been considered in planning for the West Dapto Area, completed by Ethos Urban in July 2022. It was noted that the planned Darkes Town Community Centre will provide for the future population of Kembla Grange.
What we are seeking to understand:
The Community Needs Assessment explores existing needs for community facilities and what future requirements might look like. It specifically focuses on the following facilities:
Kembla Heights Community Hall.
Figtree Community Hall.
Unanderra Community Centre.
Unanderra Library.
These are well utilised by the community, with some older facilities having limited functionality to respond to community needs. The Assessment will identify possible solutions for Planning Area 7 to ensure that the community has access to the right type of facilities in the future.
Share your feedback:
The consultants at WSP are seeking input to understand how the community uses and their aspirations for, facilities in Area 7. This will help determine future requirements for social infrastructure planning.
Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary and should take about 5-8 minutes to complete.
All completed surveys will be treated as confidential meaning your responses will be anonymous, and your name or details will not be shared publicly or in any report. Please read Council’s Privacy Notification before submitting your responses.
The survey is open for feedback from 1 May to 29 May 2023.
