The Corrimal Town Centre Plan 2015-2025 was endorsed by Council at their meeting of 30 November 2015. A copy of the Council Report and Minutes and the final Corrimal Town Centre Plan and Implementation Plan can be downloaded from the document library to the right.

To access the Engagement Report (which provides a detailed account of all feedback we collected during the exhibition of the draft Plan) and the draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan, please click on the small 'more' tab in the document library.

  • December 2015: Free Movie Event

    On Saturday 5th December, The Sapphires was shown in Memorial Park. This was a free Moonlight Movies event and formed part of Wollongong Council's Illawarra 200 Commemorations, acknowledging the contribution of the Aboriginal community through the arts.

    Development Application for Mixed Use Building On the Corner of Underwood and Russell Street Corrimal

    DA-2015/1175 has been lodged and was on public exhibition between 2 October - 21 October 2015. The application is described as: Mixed use development - Demolition of existing building and carpark and construction of retail, commercial, Aldi Store, residential units and childcare centre above basement carparking.

    The public exhibition period for the draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan has ended. The draft Plan is still available to view, and can be found in the document library to the right.

    We have been making refinements to the Plan in response to the submissions we received. A summary of what we learnt during the exhibition period will be released soon. Keep visiting this webpage for updates.

    The public exhibition period for the draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan ended on the 28 August 2015.

    Thank you to everyone who got involved during the consultation period and provided feedback on the draft Plan. The draft Plan will be refined based on your feedback and Council's priorities and will be reported later in 2015.

  • August 2015: Information Kiosk in Memorial Park

    A Council Marquee was set up in Memorial Park on Saturday 15 August 2015 to provide information on the draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan and to ask stakeholders what their wish was for Corrimal Town Centre.

    Thank you to all who visited the marquee and shared your thoughts and ideas, the input received on the day provided invaluable feedback to the Corrimal Town Centre Plan.

  • July - August 2015: Information on display in Corrimal Park Mall

    A rotating display of information about the draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan and some of the outcomes of the public exhibition was placed in a vacant retail tenancy in Corrimal Park Mall. This display aimed to catch the interest of passers-by and to encourage conversations on the future of Corrimal Town Centre.

    Increasing the liveliness of Corrimal’s public spaces is an important aspiration of the draft Corrimal Town Plan. There are many ways to encourage more people to stay in Corrimal’s streets and parks, including through temporary projects.

    The online survey presented a variety of short term projects to revitalise Corrimal's public spaces and asked participants to choose their favourite options.

    During 2014-15 Council has been working with the community to develop a draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan. Council invited comments and ideas on the draft Plan between 13 July – 28 August 2015.

    The draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan highlights opportunities to reinvigorate the Corrimal Town Centre and contains a draft vision, objectives and actions to guide future investment and development, and encourage social connections through activating and improving public space. The draft Corrimal Town Centre Plan can be downloaded in the document library.
